This past weekend, the halls of Soorp Khatch Armenian Apostolic Church were overflowing with joy, community spirit, and the irresistible aroma of traditional Armenian cuisine. The annual Armenian Food Festival brought together hundreds of community members, friends, and supporters for three unforgettable days of food and celebration.

The event was nothing short of perfect. Thanks to the tireless work of the Soorp Khatch Church Board of Trustees, the Ladies Guild, and the outstanding leadership of Ms. Danielle Shegerian, who chaired this year’s organizing committee, the festival reached new heights. Danielle’s dedication, sacrifice, and vision ensured that every detail was executed flawlessly.
We extend heartfelt thanks to all those who made this success possible:
- Community members and supporters who showed up in record numbers to fill the hall, share meals, and support the church.
- ARS Satenig DC Chapter, whose members baked, donated, and sold the delicious desserts that were enjoyed by all.
- Homenetmen DC scouts and AYF DC Ani members who assisted with serving food, working the bar, and helping guests throughout the event.
- Hamazkayin board members and volunteers, who jumped in to help wherever needed with incredible spirit and energy.
- Hamasdegh Armenian School teachers, who worked tirelessly to run the gourmet table, offering unique flavors and specialties.
A highlight of the weekend included a special dinner hosted by the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) on Friday evening. Community members gathered to enjoy good company, great food, and pastries generously offered on the house — making the evening both festive and memorable.

Most importantly, the festival was not only a cultural and social triumph but also a financially record-breaking event. The funds raised will provide crucial support for Soorp Khatch Armenian Apostolic Church, helping cover expenses and ensuring that the church doors remain open for all community members for years to come.

This year’s festival reaffirmed what makes our community so special: when we come together in unity and dedication, there is no limit to what we can achieve.
On behalf of the ARF, we express our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed, volunteered, baked, cooked, served, organized, and attended. This success belongs to all of you.
Thank you for making the 2025 Armenian Food Festival an unforgettable success.
