Memorial Day Remembrance: Honoring Those Who Gave Everything

ARF Articles

As we observe Memorial Day, the Washington D.C. “Sebouh” Gomideh of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation joins the nation in honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Memorial Day is a solemn reminder of the cost of freedom and the enduring debt owed to those who gave their lives defending the principles of liberty, democracy, and justice. Across generations, countless Americans answered the call to serve with courage and selflessness, placing the well-being of their nation above their own.

Within the Armenian-American community, this day carries special meaning. Armenian-Americans have proudly served in every branch of the United States Armed Forces for generations, standing shoulder to shoulder with their fellow Americans in defense of this country. Their sacrifice and dedication reflect the deep gratitude our community holds toward the nation that gave refuge and opportunity to so many Armenians in the aftermath of genocide and persecution.

Today, we also remember all those who continue to serve our country in uniform, as well as the families who carry the burden of sacrifice alongside them. Their commitment strengthens the very foundation of our nation and inspires future generations to serve with honor and integrity.

As an organization rooted in service, sacrifice, and national responsibility, the ARF Sebouh Gomideh encourages our community to take a moment this Memorial Day to reflect, remember, and express gratitude to those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy today.

May we never forget their sacrifice.

With respect and remembrance,

The Washington, D.C. “Sebouh” Gomideh
